Double blessings as students receive sports boost and a new tennis court

The launch of the long awaited MKU Tennis Court happened on Friday 18th February 2022 at Mwai Kibaki Convention Center. The court was officially opened by Prof. Simon Gicharu, MKU founder and board of directors at a ceremony attended by Prof. Deogratius Jaganyi, VC , Dr. Vincent Gaitho,  MKU Pro-Chancellor and students welfare, sports captains and students.

During the even the University introduced a new sport- Woodball. A sport where the mallet is used to pass a ball through gates. MKU is set to compete well in this sport that can either be played on sand or grass.

Prof. Gicharu also presented sports uniform and other games equipment to the student while reassuring them of the management’s commitment in supporting students realize their sports dreams while pursuing their academic goals. Prof Jaganyi encouraged students to engage more in extra-curricular activities and exploit their talent.

” Sports pays highly these days. Some of the richest persons in the world are in the field of sport.” We’ll provide you with what you need to be able to unlock your talent” Dr. Gaitho. “Sports plays a key role in unifying our national fabric across the world.” He added

MKU is ranked among the most funded Universities in sports.
