Football- Men

Introduction & Leadership
The Mount Kenya Football Club has been alive since the institution started. Currently the club participates in the Football Kenya Federation second division. Talented and passionate players under the guidance of their coach Mr. Njogu John has seen the team make notable strides- winning Kenya Universities Students Association (KUSA)League.

Mount Kenya Football Club is captained by Festus Waweru and deputized by Timothy Oporia. Mr. Kahiga Solomon is the club patron.

Achievements
Mount Kenya University’s intakes continue to add and diversify talent cultural diversity in the team. The Kenyan premier league scouts for talent in the team each semester indicating the massive talent existing in the team. The likes of Naarman Balecho and club assistant Tim Oporia.

In the last 3 years, Mount Kenya Football Club has reached the semifinals of East Africa University games (not a mean feat ) and have been crowned provincial champions of FKF.

The University administration takes pride in it’s commitment to nurture talent through provision of necessary support needed to keep the wheel of sport as well as other sport, running.

Training grounds & Transportation
The club has been sharpening their skills at Happy Valley grounds- Landless, for their daily training which start at 4:00PM on weekdays from Tuesday to Friday. Their division 2 matches are also played on the same ground.

University buses provide transportation of the footballers to and from Happy Valley grounds weekly and also for home and away matches.

Football- Ladies

Coached by Kaunda Victor and Captained by Trovillian Milimu, the ladies team The team enjoys a fresh injection of players on every intake, each semester.

Achievements
They’ve have done great as team. Crowned Champions of the KUSA games and semi finalists of The East Africa games. Before upgrade of FLT grounds, the team used to train there ( FLT GROUNDS) weekly- Tuesday to Friday from 4:00PM.
Construction is currently underway to build new grounds for both the Male and ladies teams near Thika High School.
