The vibrant buzz of activity marks the start of a significant milestone—admission week at Mount Kenya University. From the moment you step through the gates, there’s an undeniable energy in the air, a sense of anticipation, and a warm embrace from the MKU community. The university is alive with movement, as every corner of the campus is teeming with staff and students eager to help new learners settle into their academic journey.

As you approach the university gates, the first faces you see are those of the security team, whose smiles and greetings set a welcoming tone. They guide you through the initial steps of your journey, ensuring a smooth entry into the campus. The admission officers, stationed strategically across the university, are the heart of the week’s activities. Their tireless dedication is evident as they handle inquiries, verify documents, and assist students in finalizing their admission processes.
The main grounds are alive with the sound of music and announcements, courtesy of the Master of Ceremonies (MC) and the DJ keeping the atmosphere lively, making important announcements between upbeat tracks. Whether it’s directions to various faculties or reminders of the day’s schedule, the MC and DJ ensure that no one feels lost or overwhelmed.
MKU’s student body ( MKUSA) has risen to the occasion, with senior students volunteering to guide and mentor the newcomers. Clad in their university colors, they can be seen across the campus, offering directions, answering questions, and even helping with luggage. Their presence is a reassuring reminder that freshmen are not alone; and are now part of a larger, caring community.
This personal touch is what defines Mount Kenya University—it’s not just about academics; it’s about building a supportive network from day one.
