World Pharmacist Day 2024: Celebrating Pharmacists’ Role in Strengthening Health Systems

On September 25th the world marks World Pharmacist Day, celebrating the essential role of pharmacists in healthcare. The theme for this year Pharmacists Strengthening Health Systems, highlights their contributions to improving healthcare efficiency, accessibility, and patient outcomes.

Pharmacists do more than dispense medication; they play a key role in public health by promoting medication safety, supporting chronic disease management, and being frontline responders in crises like COVID-19. Their work in educating the public and providing vital health services strengthens the overall healthcare system.

Pharmacists undergo extensive academic and practical training, and their impact is felt across research, clinical practice, and patient care. Continuous learning is essential to keep up with advancements in medicine and evolving healthcare needs.

At Mount Kenya University, we’re committed to ensure learners have the prerequisite resources and environment that will enable them become their best self.
