“Become your own life champion” Prof. Deogratius JAGANYI urges first year students during Students orientation

Prof. Deogratius JAGANYI, vice chancellor of Mount Kenya University (MKU), exhorts students to pursue academic advancement rather than content themselves with their first degree. He claims that by doing this, they will be able to reach their full potential and realize their career goals.

He emphasized this theme on May 12 in his speech to freshmen at MKU. He gave a speech titled “Becoming Your Own Life Champion” at the Mwai Kibaki Convention Center.

The fresh men were told by Prof. Jaganyi that there was no ceiling on success. Aspire to advance even after graduating. Take the subsequent higher-level course. If you are pursuing a certificate, then you should pursue a diploma before continuing on to a bachelor’s degree program.

If you are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, you should also work toward a Masters and finally a PhD. At MKU, all of these professional advancements are possible.

The MKU VC notes that the university’s schools provide students with a variety of program options. In addition to that, he claims that MKU is a preferred university by students in Kenya and outside for a number of reasons. He points to affordability as a major factor in MKU’s appeal to students.

And here are 15 more:

  • Payment of fees is affordable and convenient for students, who may pay them in three simple percentage installments of 40:20:20:20. • Employability: MKU graduates have a good rate of job market acceptance. Others end up creating jobs. Graduates from the university are highly qualified and marketable in a variety of industries. Others decide on self-employment and start businesses. According to a Corporate Staffing Services Limited Ranking Survey, MKU graduates are in the top 10 most sought-after by employers.

The Commission for University Education (CUE) has granted MKU accreditation so that it can provide both in-person and open, distance, and online learning.

The fully chartered University is also ISO 9001:2015 certified, giving it global prestige. MKU is one of the top five schools for students from outside of Africa, according to CPS Research International.

Prof. JAGANYI tells students that the first step is to select a university and a particular course.

“This is the start of your journey to realize your career goals,” he explains. I think you want to become an authority in your particular field of study.
